"We're all steaming mad," says Phil Cosby, a resident who is organizing opposition. "This county is not unwilling, nor afraid to oppose this dangerous, addictive and increasingly violent industry.

The town is using every means it has to fight the store.

Cosby has organized 80 men into Project Daniel, an effort to picket the store around the clock for 100 days. They are taking down license plate numbers of truckers and notifying their employers.

Should'nt they be able to combat it with zoning laws? They do this to walmarts in more progessive communites.

Love this quote: "It's hard to get rid of cockroaches once you get them"

Notifying employers of truckers that like pr0n? Please. Assuming that said truckers are over 18, wtf should those guys care what they amuse themselves with? That's just pathetic. They may be entitled to a say in who can open up shop in their town, but messing with the employment of others who aren't breaking any laws? How Christian of them.

That's not Christian... that's just plain silly. Don't like the store, don't buy stuff from it. It's sooooo simple.

No, I meant as in the "Let's use the possibility of getting fired to impose our religious sensibilities on others" tactic being Christian. But you're right, it is just plain silly.

Are you bi-polar? You get all up in arms because people think that displaying the ten commandments in a place of government is wrong and now you get up in arms that those same people (who support the monument like you do) are crusading against porn in their community in what is a legal manner (ie citizen activism).

Play for one team, not both. Either it's wrong to force religion on everyone involuntarily or not.

Maybe they out to put their energy's toward "Project quality time with your kids" or perhaps "Project help your down on their luck neighbor"

Yes... but unforunately, that doesn't get public attention. Lead by your actions and others will follow...

Silly fight, I mean it is 2003 not 1950 anymore.

It is a silly fight, but I don't think porn has become any more acceptable since 1950... at least I hope not.
