It would depend on how bad the less enjoyable job was.
If you dread going to work every day, that's going to affect your life outside of work as well. I've had jobs that I hated so much that even during my off time, I couldn't stop thinking about how much it was going to suck when it was time to go to work. That is really no way to live.

But if you are just talking about the difference between a mediocre job that pays really well and a really really fun job that pays crap, I'll take the mediocre one. I've got a wife and 4 kids to support and their happiness and security is more important to me than really loving the job I have. Plus I like to have money to spend when I'm not at work as well.

it depends on how much money.

$7k difference annually ? That is chump change after all is said and done. If it's $20k, then I'd start considering the "worse" job.

I wouldn't work for any place for 50k a year, let alone 43k ;)

At least, not for a career.

it all depends on the situation.

all other things being equal (room to go up,, potential future raises, job security, profit sharing, benefits, etc) I'd probably take the one that I think I would enjoy better if it paid a little bit less. However, if it was significant (which 7K is) then it would be a tough choice .... As long as its not a horrible job that I think I would hate, I think I'd take the job with more money.
