Wonder if they found anything in his freezer.

Based on the speed they moved with the William Jefferson thing Doolittle should be making reelection plans.

I am still waiting for Congress to enact real reform.

Until they can accept NOTHING from lobbyist, directly or indirectly, politics is going to be tainted.

Throw them all out

Doolittle called Abramoff a friend and has numerous ties to the lobbyist beyond his wife's work. They include accepting campaign cash from Abramoff, using his sports box without initially reporting it as required and interceding with the Interior Department on behalf of Abramoff's Indian tribe clients.

Two years before Julie Doolittle went to work for Abramoff, Ring discussed with Abramoff the possibility of getting her a job at a nonprofit accused of doing favors for Abramoff in exchange for cash.

That 2000 exchange was disclosed in an e-mail released by Senate investigators last year, but the job in question didn't come about.

Julie Doolittle was paid $66,690 by Abramoff's firm Greenberg Traurig from September 2002 to February 2004. She was hired to work on a March 2003 fundraiser at the Spy Museum in Washington, D.C., but the event was canceled after the invasion of Iraq.

Julie Doolittle also did fundraising for her husband's congressional campaigns until this year, when he hired an outside fundraiser. Doolittle's employment of his wife became a controversy during his re-election last year, which he won only narrowly despite representing one of the most conservative districts in California.

====================================================
Seems the FBI raided the home of Congressman John Doolittle R of California. Mainly over records of his wife's company that had dealing with Abramoff.

Do any have additional insights?

Money rules the American poltical landscape making them all untouchable.

While you & I may disagree on other subjects, we agree here...

Our government is certainly the best money can buy...and usually does.

Would make more sense.

Look at the history of bad politicians and how long it takes before the gov get them.
We're still waiting on Jefferson, has it been a year yet with the $100k in the freezer?

Yeah, just keep bringing up Jefferson and the freezer, I'm sure it'll distract everyone from Doolittle's case. How's that workin' for you?

From ProfJohn-

But, but, but Jefferson!

One dirty Democrat doesn't even compare to the culture of corruption in the Repub party, which will only become more obvious once the DoJ isn't dragging the anchor of Repub Administration...

It's become so utterly commonplace that the electorate is jaded, fully expecting thier elected representatives to be liars, cheats, thieves and charlatans.

It's entirely fitting that those who profess to hate govt should use and abuse their positions of public trust so egregiously... If there's contempt for the govt of the people, for the people, and by the people, then there's obviously contempt for the people, as well... particularly for the people foolish enough to vote them into office...

As the OP on this thread, I can assure you that the thread title is and remains " FBI raids Doolittle."

And as always we can count on non-Prof John to thread crap by saying dems do it too. But earth To non-Prof John---earth to non Prof John---maybe you can riddle me this one.

Given that Jefferson is corrupt---and it sure looks like he is---and the dems want him gone also----WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SEEING HE IS PROSECUTED?

Could it possibly be Alberto Gonzales?---and one of the US attorneys he did not fire?-----once again---think Jonney boy before you open mouth and insert foot---or did Rush Limbaugh forget to inform you that that's how the system works.---if the Prosecutor is missing in action---the criminal gets away with it.

And maybe if we had a real Attorney General in Washington DC not otherwise occupied in transforming the People's Justice Department into the Injustice Department, Ole Willie Jefferson might be sitting in a jail cell today.---along with Duke Cunningham and Abramoff.

I eagerly await your answer non Prof John--yes tell us all why Jefferson is not in jail---by all means do. Do little fits Alberto and GWB&co. also. Which forum troll shoe do you want to eat first?
