Since I am the only one who seems to like Punk Rock around here, I have to add some.
Matt Freeman from Op Ivy/Rancid is amazing. This solo is great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUQr_GqYCQ0#t=1m00s but I love all of his playing from way back in the Op Ivy days.
Love the opening to Fire The Faith by Monster Squad too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fRaVhspjZI

Freeman is definitely solid. I can't stand the lead singer from Rancid, so I don't listen to them much, but I've heard quite a few songs. Great playing.
while he is a fucking AMAZING bassist, there is not one bass solo of his which I find memorable.
He got his reputation, not as a fancy solo player, but as the machine that somehow keeps up with Petrucci and Rudess. Most people gawk at the latter, but in reality, Myung is usually playing right along with them with more difficult parts. He's a machine, not a soloist.

re: the primus link above- as much as I try to like them for some reason I just really can not get in to it at all
I like everything about Primus, but I don't enjoy listening to them. I guess it's more appreciating what they do, as opposed to liking it.
The early stuff was far better. Kinda like metallica, Pork Soda was their "Black" album which coincidentally was mostly black. Everything before that album was excellent.
