Gotta love Les.

I've never liked Clif. Got a lot more attention as a bass player than he deserved in my opinion.

yeah, i don't think he was an exceptional bassist, but that song was just writing very well with a lot of heart imo.

My top 10 bass lines (no order):

-Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith
-Walk On The Wild Side - Lou Reed
-Lemon Song - Led Zeppelin
-Taxman - Beatles
-Give It Away - Red Hot Chili Peppers
-My Generation - The Who
-Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
-Money - Pink Floyd
-Another Brick In the Wall (Pt 1-3) - Pink Floyd

If you want to learn bass, listen to those 20 songs and you'll be good to go.

OPs video isn't really my thing. I'll give him props for technique though.

I guess I'll contribute Vic to this thread.

Heres some others:

Alain Caron has to be here too. The guys slap technique and economy of motion is absolutely flawless.

Michael Manring, as was mentioned before, has incredible knowledge of the instrument.

Sticking with the more chill players, Miki Santamaria (I believe hes in a relationship with Marta Altesa, if not they're very close friends)

Bob Fazio is a guy that I absolutely love his style, but hes not very well known.

If you're into the extended range basses, Jean Baudin is great.

Solid list. I'd throw on Brickhouse too.

I'll add John Myung's name to this thread since I haven't seen it yet. ;)

while he is a fucking AMAZING bassist, there is not one bass solo of his which I find memorable.

Agreed. I'm a huge Myung fan, but nothing sticks out at me besides his hair.

Stefan Lessard from Dave Matthews Band is another one of those underrated bassists, because he very rarely solos. Amazing pocket player though.
