I saw this hidden within a console gaming thread (the thread was about them dropping PS3 / 360 exclusivity deals), but apparently they are going to increasingly have PC versions of their future games

 to a traditional console-centric developer / publisher broadening their portfolio to more platforms.

Capcom Kills Platform Exclusivity Deals, Strengthens PC Gaming Division

Capcom's ninety-page 2008 financial report announces a complete abandonment of platform exclusive development and a company-wide roll-out of MT Framework, their in-house development system that allows for platform parity.

Another source
Henceforth, Capcom will develop many of its games using its internal MT Framework technology, "an integrated development environment built to provide common development tools for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms."

Nice to see Capcom support the pc even though I don't think all their games appeal to the traditional pc gamer. I don't care about them though as I like having the superior versions of both Lost Planet: Colonies and Devil May Cry 4. Hopefully Resident Evil 5 is next! Go Capcom!

So companies in the West are abandoning the PC while companies in the East are starting to pick up? If that's the trend, I'd be in tears of joy.

Didn't CapCom complain about low DMC4 sales on the PC? I guess they still made enough money to continue.

Here's to Square Enix jumping on this band wagon...

One can hope, anyway.

If only, if only, if only they would focus more upon mouse control/gameplay.
I wish the world would understand just how inferior gamepads are in first/third person shooters.
