I love the last quote "Cover the full gamut".....well, as long as we don't worry about real history, current events, or anything that really happened at all.

Guarentee these people have taken out all pictures of WWII concentration camps. Taken out everything on the "Trail of Tears", probably even took out everything in regard to "bad Nazi's"....

PC is the biggest crap I have ever seen. Just plan BS. If I lived in California, I would be home schooling.

I think I will adopt a new policy to be an "equal opportunity offender" I will try to offend all races/groups/classes/ etc with equal frequency. If I have not offended you or your group/class yet today then i apologize - give me time ;)

California school system is for sh!t anyway (atleast my parents thought so back when I lived outside of L.A. around 1987).

That woman's quote is just ridiculous. By representing "all sides" it completely skews the accuracy of our history textbooks. How does one re-tell that Salem witch trials without mentioning the fear of the devil, which has been erased without replacement. The fact is that not all side were represented throughout history, nor were all side involved throughout history. Also, much of what isn't represented (American Indian History, for example) simply wasn't recorded. So are they just going to make sh!t up, or are the textbooks only going to be four chapters long? What are they gonna say when talking about the Mai Lai massacre and Vietnam, or the Japanese camps here in the US during WWII? Are they going to replace "jew" with "discriminated person of minority religious beliefs" when talking about the holocaust?

When it comes to history the concept of PC doesn't apply. You have to tell it like it was, to the best of your ability (given the fact there's always going to be some sort of ethnocentric bias in a US history textbook).

The hippy liberal west coast is probably the most bass ackwards place in this nation.

And what's with this:

And if you think grandpa is a senior citizen, guess what? You?re wrong. That?s demeaning, according to the new standards. He is now simply an "older person."

I think "senior citizen" sounds a lot more grand than "older person"... that's so generic and dull.

I'm telling you, this country is moving in the direction that I've been claiming it has for some time... it's becoming a breeding ground for limp wristed, oversensitive pansies. Where are the real men at?

HAHAHA!!! I was wondering when we'd come full circle on this. I remember when you called old people "old people" but that was nixed in favour of "senior citizen" because it was more PC. Now they've used "senior citizen" too much and find it demeaning, so they want to be called "older people" again. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I wonder how long it will be before they also take out pictures of meat and references of meat eating? I'm sure the limp wristed vegetarians are pushing to make vegetarianism the only acceptable way.

So how difficult is it for the rest of the 49 states to vote one out. I mean do we really need California.

LOL! Jokes on them! The term "senior citizen" has always been a euphemism for "old person". In ten years, they'll be complaining again about the negative connotation of "older person", and will want to go back to "senior citizen".

The sad thing is that it isn't just limited to Kalifornia. There was a news piece done several months ago here in Texas. They were talking about revising the way textbooks portrayed the Alamo and other incidents in Texas war for independence from Mexico. They wanted to change the telling so that the Mexican army didn't look like a bunch of bad guys. They didn't want to offend the large Hispanic segment of Texas residents.
