It depends, not having access to the article, some specials are ON LINE only. Technically, Best Buy and the Best Buy on-line are separate entities, For example, I got some Insignia speakers which were advertised as $40 on their website, but were $60 in-store, but the webpage SPECIFIED it was an on-line dea. When I went to the store, they gave me the price but it took them awhile to get it sorted in the system because they were sortof and not-sortof price-matching to themselves. If I had done local-pickup, it wouldn't have been a problem, but buying it in-store made it a different matter. Also, local specials aren't necessarily going to be on the website either, so it might make sense for them to have an intranet for their current local pricing scheme, vs. the "separate entity" that is bestbuy.com
It's possible it was an error on Best Buys part, and it's possible they didn't notice it was an on-line special, but I dunno.
