More bad inter-sport venue planning

Link:

Basically the scenario is this:
1) If the Tigers and Twins end the year tied in the AL Central
and
2) If the Twins end up with a better head-to-head record against the Tigers

then the Twins and Tigers would play a 1-game playoff at the Metrodome to determine the division champion. However, if this were to occur, then it would conflict with the Vikings/Packers showdown that Monday night.

I, for one, hope this happens just to see the chaos that would ensue.:laugh:

Everything you like is terrible and boring as well. Thanks for the great post!

Seriously, football's back...baseball had it's fun showing highlights on ESPN during the summer, but step aside for the real sports now.

The chances of that happening are slim. The Twins suck. In fact the entire AL Central sucks and should probably just be eliminated since whichever team makes it to the ALDS will end up getting swept anyway.

I don't understand how the MLB can possibly get any precedence in this situation...

What do you mean?

He's merely pointing out that baseball only persists as a spectator sport because it has no competition (being played in a season where all other sports are on holiday). When a sports fan is forced to choose between baseball and football, or baseball and basketball, or baseball and hockey, or baseball and golf, or baseball and tennis, or baseball and poker, or baseball and reruns of Desparate Housewives, baseball simply cannot compete.

This.

not to mention only thing currently scheduled is the NFL game, so it would be baseball making things into a muck if they try to schedule something then.

Just play the baseball game before the football game. Whats the big deal?

Maybe there is a little problem with the field configuration for baseball and football, just saying...

You're right, who needs a lease. Just throw it out and decide which team gets the facility based on what sport Quintox finds boring.

The NFL has owned Monday nights for decades, the MLB should have known better than to schedule boring-ass baseball on a night of thrilling football.

I'm saying why do they need to play some loser makeup game when an NFL game is already scheduled? They don't even know if they need the game yet, but the date is somehow set in stone? Sounds pretty idiotic to me. Move the MLB game.

This is not a makeup game. This is game 163 we're talking about. In baseball, it does not get any better than 1 baseball game for all the marbles.

Sorry but the Vikings/Packers game is the most anticipated game of the regular season. Nothing is going to interfere with it.
