OK, so let's say that ;)*hypothetically*;) you were going to miss your driver's ed class at school Thursday, and unfortunately that day they happen to be taking a test in it. You tell your teacher ahead of time (on wednesday), and he's really cool about it, in fact, he's so nice he tells you that you can just take it on Friday during the class, because they weren't going to be covering anything that important.

So Friday rolls around, he gives you the test, and tells you go into the classroom next door because no one's in it. You go in there, you're completely by yourself. Nearly the entire test is multiple choice. Now, in this class, they grade tests by passing them back to the students ungraded, the students switch tests with someone else, and the teacher calls out the answers in order. (He checks them himself later, this is just so you can know what you got on the test quickly). Now, the wall separating these two rooms happens to be quite thin, and this particular teacher speaks quite loudly. Therefore, you can hear EVERY DAMN WORD HE'S SAYING.

You see where I'm going with this? So, ;)*hypothetically*, if you were sitting in this room all alone by yourself, looking at the test in front of you, and all the answers are being called out, quite clearly, in order, would you simply fill them in?

Now, if this had ;)*really*;) happened, I personally would have done fine on the test anyway, I haven't gotten anything below an A in driver's ed, the class is stupidly easy. But, with all the answers being called out...

What would you do? I think you've figured out what I did, so no need to explain.

I whole-heartedly concur.

It's also an opportunity to practice a skill that's rather useful, tuning out what other people nearby are saying.

A test is for the teacher to find out how much you have learned and how much you haven't. Cheating doesn't help you in the long run.

Well with the answers being called out you can't really just ignore them. You would keep telling yourself I would've known that anyways and the only way you would miss something is if you purposely get it wrong. The only option is to tell the teacher, or just start filling the answers.

Yeah, guys, don't accuse me of being dumb for copying down the answers on this test...as i said, I've never gotten anything below an A on anything in that class. I think my thought process was kind of what several people here described: I can't just NOT listen...I can't tune that out...

I would do what I can, but if I get stuck I'd listen to the answers. I just need to take care not to get a perfect paper.

I've been cheating on my eye tests for YEARS. You simply get a good look at it and memorize everything (atleast I can memorize everything) then take it. :D My eyes aren't bad, but I definantly can't make out those small letters from that far away. They all think I have 20/15, haha suckers.

two things:

1) this is an ethical dilemma, not a moral one
2) cheating on a driver's ed test? those things are so easy even a monkey trained in sign language can pass it.

Sounds like you already did it so why ask now?
If you already think you would have done fine anyway then who cares?

I don't think that I would have stuffed my underware in my ears, maybe socks, but not underware.

All seriousness aside!!

I would have gotten up, gone next door and told the teacher that I can hear the answers that he is calling out, and ask him if there is another class that you cannot hear the answers in which to take the test.

Talk about coming out smelling like a rose...
