Moral dilemma...

Three days ago, my mother asked me how an old friend from junior high was doing (seemingly out of nowhere). I just said "I don't know, I haven't seen him in like 2 years").

Two days ago, I bumped into him on the street.

My girlfriend is out of town for the long weekend, camping with her family. I told her I had nothing to do, so I jokingly said "Maybe I'll just try to see SW:E3 by myself". I didn't mean it because I want to see it with her and I know she'd be upset if I saw it without her.

Anyway, today I got a phone call from my friend from Jr. High, and he asks me if I want to come over for a BBQ and watch SW:E3 with him on his new big screen tv. His brother downloaded it off the net.

So my moral dilemma is, do I watch the movie without my girlfriend, knowing that she wanted to watch it with me, or not watch the movie just for my gf.

watch it again 🙂

If your girlfriend is understanding, she will not mind this matter. On top of that, you just met an very old friend 🙂

Aren't you the prat who missed a trip to australia on account of his girlfriend? If you are, someone needs to smack you repeatedly.

If not, I apologize, and go to the BBQ.

And piracy is a non-dilema? but what do I know..

Ask her. Tell her the whole deal, she'll likely say it's okay. Or tell this friend you want to wait for her to come back to see it, and he'll likely say he'll wait and she can come over too.

you should call the FBI and see if they'll come with you to your friend's place, that would be entertaining.

you do not ask permission for things like this.

D00d, watching that downloaded copy on a big screen will be agony.

The aspect ratio is completely screwed...yeah don't ask me how i know all this, but if you really wanna see the Star Wars crap, go see it in theatres.

That's right, I'm a MAN and I don't have to look out for other people... *GRUNT* *GRUNT* *GRUNT* 😛

That pirate copy of SW is pure sh!t and will look worse on a big screen. It will ruin the experience completely.

Right...the reason you don't ask is because no matter how she feels, she'll be nice and say she doesn't care...

Wait a second, weren't you the one asking for advice?

I'd be more concerned with watching a pirated movie.

😛

me too.

but then again... i would watch the movie and then see it again with the SO. I may or may not pretend I had never seen it before... depends on the mood.

🙂

The quality is gonna be ass and I doubt he can recreate the movie theater effects. But do what you will.

agreed. the only pirated copies out there HAVE to be cams -- some idiot with a camcorder in a theatre. the quality of that stuff is awful.

as others said, watch it twice. you can tell your girlfriend that you already saw it, but i would advise against that path; just pretend you haven't seen it -- and refrain from giving out any spoilers.

Also, why can't you just go to the BBQ and then excuse yourself when they're watching SWE3. I mean, it would seem pretty understandable if you told them you promised your girlfriend you'd watch it with her.
