Yesterday I got a call from a coworker asking if I could cover his shift. Not being one to turn down a chance to help a friend, I obliged but not after I realized that I had already made an appointment to help out my mother with some tax stuff. So within 5 minutes I had called the guy back and left him a message telling him to find someone else..
Well it turns out that either he didn't get the message or didnt find someone else 'cos I had a message on my answering machine from my manager saying that no one showed up for the shift..
Am I responsible because I initially accepted the shift or is my coworker responsible because I did in fact call him back and tell him I couldn't help?
