I went fishing. Caught a fish. Here is a pic...

Man that would be no story!

I went hunting, Shot a moose. Here is a pic...

You gotta tell how you got it. Might have bagged it outside a cabin window for all we know 😀

Hey, if it was anything like those moose (mooses? 😛) in the new Disney movie, I'd shoot it, too. Anybody seen the commercials for Brother Bear?

Seriously, though - good work. Where were you hunting?

Nate

Anybody eatin buffalo?
It's also pretty healthy.
Ted Turner's new restaurant, Ted's Montana Grill, just opened one in the town I live in. Buffalo tastes and is much better than cow meat.

Nutritional info on buffalo, (per 12oz serving)
Calories: 444
Protein: 91.2g
Total Fat: 6g

Anyways, congrats on the moose. After you explaining that you can basically live off of this meat for 11 months I may have to go out and start hunting myself.

Ok!
Had been scouting for like three days and had seen a few but were a little picky.
On Thursday morning, went into the woods about 2.5 miles and heard some moose calls. Walked another 1/2 mile into the woods and saw two of them, both about the same size (around 900lbs) butting horns in a show of dominance.
Looked to the left a ways and saw a cow (female moose) waiting for the victor of the fight. once the smaller one turned and ran, it was time for the decision...do we shoot or do we wait for a nother one. Well since Saturday is the last day and it was already Thursday, it was obviously time to hit it.

Four shots from a 30-06 (thirty-odd-six for thos who dont know the term) and down it went. Dressed it right there in the field, kept the heart and then used a couple of four wheelers to get it back to the truck. Had to use some "come-alongs" to haul it into the back of the truck! Lost the special tag while it was being dragged out, all nervous about going to the weigh station, but they have all your info on file so they said we were all set!

how bout I go to your house and shoot you for fun.. then eat you.. it would be perfectly fine to kill a living creature, just as long as it is eaten afterwards and has its head mounted on the wall. As if americans dont have enough food already, you have to go out into the wild and bag a moose to feed your starving family.

I'm not some animals rights activist or anything, but I can't honestly find one thing right about going out and hunting down a perfectly innocent animal for fun.. a person would have to be pretty sick to get pleasure out of that imo

Hmm, I wonder what human tastes like. I've heard it's pretty yummy. From what I understand, once a Tiger eats human, that's all it wants to eat from then on.

Bison is great. Makes awesome hamburgers, steaks, etc. (Moose burgers are good too). The best part is that with Bison, the fat is in a layer on the outside of the muscle/meat, instead of being marbled throughout it like it is with cattle. The local grocery store use to carry ground bison, but then it proved so popular, they started cutting it with beef fat. 🙁

Don't have any right now, unfortunately. 🙁 One of my sisters put in for the Bison hunt lottery this year, but she did not get selected.
