So, I'm taking a little trip to Montreal in a few weeks.. Anyone have advice on some of the good local hot spots to go to? For a beach bum like me I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the sub zero weather, but I definitely want to go snowboarding and want to explore the non-touristy areas of the city.

Yes, but not well enough to speak it at a high level. My grandparents tought me french when I was growing up, so my vocabulary basically stopped growing at the age of 5

Montreal is a nice place, just stay out of the East end of the city, it could get ugly

Knowing some French will help with reading signs, etc. Don't forget ID (D/L and/or passport) especially if you're driving across the border.

Have heard good things about Mt. Tremblant ski/snowboard area, but have never been there. They're owned by the same parent company that owns Whistler/Blackcombe.
