Montoya makes his first Nextel Cup level race Sunday

blah blah blah nascar sucks blah blah circles blah blah no talent blah blah fat blah blah trailer trash blah blah rednecks. Think that takes care of the normal BS that pops up in a Nascar thread.

This will be his first start at this level. He has already made a few starts in the lower levels and did alright. Now he will be in a field where most of the cars are as good as or better then his own instead of going up against a field mostly made up of low buck teams. He qualified 29 which isn't all the impressive but he did qualify and 11 other people where sent home.

montoya has the perfect mentality/personality for nascar

in F1 alot of people didnt like him, he was very in your face, always had a come back to critics, and was his racing style was very rough and agressive.... certainly didnt give two hoots who he was overtaking, took no prisoners....even if he did take out his team mate Kimi on one occasion.

in F1 alot of people dont like that overly agressive style, i for one loved watching him try muscle his way round the track....entertaining to watch, just like Takuma Sato is (5ft jap guy with a high pitched voice but still gives the older more respected racers the finger)

for me F1 is missing characters like him, but he does suit the more rough n ready nature of nascar. "rubbin's racin"
