i'm considering visiting there because i think i can get hooked up with a free flight there...

is this place any fun? or is it like a bunch of trees?

it would be rather cold there...

Theres nothing really that spectacular (the aquarium is quite small). But be sure to check out that "10 mile drive" (the one where you have to pay toll and you go along the beach) and cannary row.

Up to you.

I thought you said Monterey Park, CA. I was gonna tell you were a crazy a$$ mofo.

you live in/near monterey park?

<--alhambrian

do you attend SGHS?

I live near New Ave, the border between sg and alh.

Wow, other people from the real Chinatown 🙂. I'm from Monterey Park. Grew up right next to Mark Keppel high...

Oh, as for the topic... How long were you planning on staying? There's not too much there but if you get a car and are willing to drive either north or south for a few hours and stay near San Francisco or Los Angeles it'll be worth your while I think...

san jose repping right here.

monterey would be rather cold during the winter, the aquarium is worth going to, but not spectacular. i think its a nice place for vacation but you might want to go somewhere else less chilly for the winter.

Monterrey is a very nice town (I think it's two "r"s.) My girlfriend lives in Carmel, which is very close to it. As such, I am flying into Monterrey soon to go see her.

it would be rather cold there...

Uh...no. At least not compared to Chicago.

The Aquarium is pretty nice, a lot nicer then the crap they call an aquarium in Long Beach. Its 17-mile drive btw😉 I was just there a few months back b4 school started. Nice relaxing place IMHO.

we west coasters cant take much cold. heh heh

Monterey is quite nice. I lived there for four years. Being in CA, it doesn't get too cold there of course. Carmel is a beautiful town, and Highway #1 along the Big Sur coast is one of the nicest drives you could ever take. San Francisco and Yosemite aren't too far either. And, you can't forget the famous Monterey Bay Acquarium!

If you'd like a really nice B&B near Monterey, I highly suggest Deetjens. My family spent a few nights there. It's a quiet, romantic place.

is there a night life there? like at 11pm-1am would there be anywhere to go and just kick back with friends? how is the day life...is it all quiet or are there places to walk around? are there lots of nice eateries(probably not a word 🙂)?

Cannary Row...Theres Bubba Gumps, El Torito, and other expensive places to name a few...and they're all by the seaside.

ahahahaha, watch the asian gangs shoot each other or something. 😀

Monterey is cool, but I couldn't stay there more than a couple days or I'd start feeling claustrophic.

Day 1:
Morning - Shop on Cannery Row
Afternoon - Go see the aquarium
Evening - Eat at the Chart House

Day 2:
Morning - Shop down the highway at Carmel
Afternoon - Beachcomb on Breaker Beach
Evening - Watch the Sun set

Bring a jacket cause it will be cold all day. Fisherman's Warf is over-rated and smells. Don't forget to pet the bat rays at the aquarium if they still have them.
