Monster Quest + UFO Hunters = WTF?

Trying to figure out why these two shows even exist.
Because here what happens every episode.

1: Monster Quest -
People report seeing a strange creature
We see some testimonials
We find some hair or feces which is taken to lab and found inconclusive
They setup motion cameras and get a shot of a local racoon or two
RESULT : Inconclusive

2: UFO Hunters
Look at old reports of alledged UFO crash/landing
Talk to alledged eye witnesses
Scan 50yr old "crash site" with a metal detector (LMAO)
Find a piece of metal, take to lab and get Inconclusive results.
Look at a photo and get inconcusive results
RESULT - Inconclusive

WTF?
Ive NEVER seen any episode of either of these shows where they've found anything CONCLUSIVE or any HARD EVIDENCE.
Heck i even kinda remember an episode of Monster Quest where they were searching for a creature and a woman had a dead one (full carcaus) and these morons still said it was inconclusive when it was he ONLY time they actually had any physical evidence! LOL

So why even make the show?

I mean...
i can take a metal detector into the woods and tell you i found a piece of strange metal that may be alien wreckage.
I can record a bunch of people saying they saw strange lights or a huge hairy creature with no evidence to back them up.

So i wanna know is if all it takes to be "the expert" on one of these shows is the ability to show up on camera and be called an expert without laughing and keep a fake serious look on your face while you do it.
Are they hiring?
I can do that. 😀

Yeah, I tend to agree. I think the H channel needs to go back to doing awesome informational shows on ancient Greece/Rome/Space Flight Specials/etc. Not this faux-reality TV-esque weakness.

im going for a walk in the woods today, i'll record my walk and see if i can find a piece of animal hair.
Then i'll have my "expert" (my wife) examine the hair and say it could be from any wild animal.

Then hopefully i can sell the tape for $$$$

You're right, they are Genius.
How anyone picked these shows up is beyond me.

I really wish this wasn't the case, but... It is 🙁. Its like "Ghost Hunters" the sci-fi channels most played show. It baffles me that people actually want to see grown men with bad cameras film their shadows in the dark and then run away screaming.

"Its definitely warmer/cooler in this spot, that must mean someone from the other side is trying to tell us about the murder of their husband in 1964! Its the only logical explanation!"

Fogot about Ghost Hunters, theyre even more low budget and generic than the previous two.

I agree with the OP. While these shows are often good for laughs, I've noticed that the History Channel seems to be going down the route of Discovery and TLC and including more "reality" type of crap than the good, solid documentaries like Barbarians, etc. Maybe it is just me, but come on -- Ice Road Truckers and Ax Men? SERIOUSLY?

I just wish that NG doesn't follow the same path and I'm just looking forward on Monster Quest for the chupacabras episode.
