She would still have to solder Googer. The pin connectors I linked previously are better and cheaper also.

But at monitor side, it's a 3.5mm phono jack. Aware of any 3.5mm solderless?

Also, Bose sucks royal ass. ASS I tell you! If you think they sound good, then you don't know what good sound is. That's just the way it is. Bose is prepacked trendy shite for the rich snooty bastard subculture.

Yes I am.
For the MSRP of the many of the Klipsch speakers you could have a set of these and a vintage amp. Net result? Better sound, more bass, and higher maximum output. You people are buying the 'McDonalds' of speakers. haha.

Just by looking at your rig, our average budget looks like McDonalds.

You buy four of those, plus an amp and you're over $300 already. Hell $200 is already way over most people will spend on PC SPEAKERS. The OP is obviously happy with what he bought. I'd like for you give him something better for $80. Maybe you can spare two of your seven pairs since you seem to be putting down what he got. :D

No offense or anything but you're coming off as another audiophile elitist. :p

Klipsch refrence is the best imo, RF-7's as fronts, RC-7 as the center and RS-7's as surrounds and RSW-12 as the sub = pwnage, bose sucks.

These are high-end

When your looking for good speakers, those are lower end. These are high end TOp of the Line B&W

Notice the 10,000-20,000 prices for some of them!

Edit: Just noticed the link does'nt work THe page for the top end

The latest B&W speakers use diamond tweeters for acurate high notes. I am familiar with B&W, they sound awesome! BUT B&W is way too darn expensive 8-10k for a pair! But For me, Dollar for Dollar Bose is a nice middle road for my budget. Decent 5.1 sound for less than $1,800. It's a better bargain for the part-time audiophile.

IF anyone wants to talk about crud sound just head down to Bad Buy or Wall*Mart and Turn on the latest in AIWA Technology. Just remember to cover your ears in the process.

Ok, I'll give you that bose can beat a crappy AIWA system... but you can do a heck of a lot better for $1800.

Does AIWA even make an $1800 system?

My bose is crap link has a long list of systems that will blow away bose and still have small satellite speakers if that's your reason for wanting bose.

If small speakers aren't important you can get a killer system for $1800.

Example:
SVS PB-10 = $450
Pioneer 1014 = $400
Ascend acoustics 340s up front+center, 170s for surrounds = $1000

I don't think bose is good dollar for dollar with anything.

The drivers in that are $16 for each woofer and $30 for the tweeter...I wouldn't call that "high end". nice...yes..;)

You realize how critical the crossover is?

Come on now... the Scanspeak Revelator is a $200 tweeter... but systems that use it go for $15,000. You're point? You should know that drivers aren't the only thing that make a speaker...

It is a 1/8" mono mini jack on one end like this. The other end is bare wires that clip into the back ot the amp.

That's like bragging about the performance of your Ferrari until someone points out you have scooter wheels on it, and you respond by saying, wheels aren't the only thing that make a sports car. Well, no, but they are a rather important part of the package. If the drivers aren't any good, the speakers won't be any good either regardless of what else is in the speaker.

Bose are a niche market product like Apple. They aren't the best bang for buck like Apple, but they aren't bad quality wise and they each have unique characteristics that can make them worth the cost to certain users. I wouldn't recommend either to the average person, but I wouldn't call Bose the heaping pile of doggie do that many "audiophiles" like to claim.

That was cover by me earlier...

look for 3.5mm ^^

Pariah,
Price doesn't always equal performance. The drivers in those monitors are like the Winchester 90nm of the speaker world.
