So . . . campersteve and i just left the bar and were met by 2.5 feet of water in the parking lot. Mind you, we had both just come from work so likely both ruined our work shoes. I was wearing a white pair of pants and the bottom portion are no longer white. There were cars in the parking lot that had water higher than the bottom of their doors. Just amazing. those people have a shitty surprise waiting.

As we crossed the street, we saw many trashcans and other shit floating down the street. Cars were getting stuck and all was awesome. That's pretty much the only word I could say. Awesome. Got home just in time to save the tortoise from floating away.

VIVA monsoons. I don't give a shit about the clothes. We need this water and it is awesome to watch mother naure in action. The sound of the thunder is actually relaxing for me since I've been through so many monsoon seasons. What a great way to end a good day. I hope all the others out there have good luck getting home and have the opportunity to enjoy the scenery as much as me.

Cliffs: Monssons are awesome
I need new pants.
Hope all others in the valley are home safe

Yes it was good to me. Sorry this is a dumb thread for those used to rain, but it's been ~8-10 months since I've seen wx like this.

I remember when I was visiting Phoenix, there was a thunderstorm and the cars were hydroplaning like crazy. When I got back to the hotel, the concierge informed us that it was the most severe storm, and probably only storm for the year. The fucking thing didn't even last 10 min!

One time I was driving through AZ and a truck with a small trailer went zooming past me on the left. About 30 minutes later a mini-monsoon hit (I'm from San Diego, so it was a monsoon for me) and then about 20 minutes later I saw the truck from earlier on the side of the road up a small embankment. It was pretty obvious that he had lost control of his trailer and jackknifed. This has nothing to do with you, but that idiot couldn't drive in heavy rain, and monsoons are pretty cool.

While we don't get monsoons in the PDX area, we see more than our fair share of rain...

We went out and about today for a few hours. When we returned home the rain gauge showed 1.25 inches. Tucson.

We just got done pushing a neighbor's car for what seemed like 4 miles. We got him there, he gave me a guinness, and offered for us to stop by for "Beer or something Else."

I like helping out random ppl. Makes me feel like I'm getting karma points for something or other.

Couldn't find my camrea (still packed from last weekend somewhere.) I tried some phone pics but they look like shit.

So . . . sorry but no :camera:, but I'm sure nobody will care because this has nothing to do with hot chicks.

Edit: Looks like the storm is coming to an end :frown:

Yeah winter 06 here we had a big ass blizzard. Helped a bunch of people get unstuck.

It was really nice to see everyone in the neighborhood helping everoyne else out. I've no doubt there are plenty of places where it wouldn't happen.

I'm not so sure it happens around here too much. Arizona has a reputation for exceeding its douchebag capacity.

We just happened to go outside to check out the storm and saw someone in need. I would just hope that someone might be around to help me out when it's my turn.

Always cool to see people come together in times of need though, especially when they're normally enemies/not on good terms.

edit: that extra beer topped me off. Spelling has gone downhill. Or uphill depending on whatever resolution was reached in that other thread from earlier today. Naptime.

Head's up. Try to snap some photos if you have a camera handy since I failed that test earlier.

That rain earlier was awesome! Nothing I haven't seen before, but people always told me that it doesn't rain in Phoenix. I have a steak warming to room temperature and by golly, I grilled it. Steak was good, rain was awesome...good stuff.

I'd sure love some of that rain to knock all the fuckin smoke out of the air here in Sacramento. When I left for work this morning it was so thick I could stare directly at the red sun without even squinting.
