I know this may be a longshot, but has anyone here had experience with the compression F connectors from Monoprice? I plan to change out and add a few cable runs from my dish and I will need a few of these. Would I be better off spending a bit more on the Thomas & Betts connectors? Any help would be much appreciated.

That's kind of hard to say, but I don't think you can go wrong with T&B. The price difference can't be that huge, unlike HDMI cables the ones monopoint carries compared to monster cable or similar that most retail stores carry, and this is certainly something you don't want to have to do twice.

You may also want to look at Home Depot (where I work in the electrical section) and check out the Leviton brand which is also very good.

I haven't used any monopoint F connectors BTW. And I am assuming by compression, you're talking about using a compression tool vs a crimping tool.

you want quad-shielded rg-6 cable. you're best bet is T&B compression fittings and compression tool, not hex-crimp. use this type of prep tool.

Yep...I'm good to go with a stripper and compression tool and cable. I just wondered if anyone had used the monoprice connectors. However, ebay has some good deals on T&B fittings, so I think I will go that route. Thanks all!!

We carry Ideal Compression Connectors. You're probably thinking of the Quickport keystone jacks by Leviton.

Since this is for sat and these will be outdoor runs, I assume, I wouldn't skimp on the connectors. Outdoor terminations are generally the most demanding environment for your ends. For runs inside the home I'd say it would be pretty hard to beat the monoprice ends in terms of price per end. (they are cheaper than my companies cost on more name brand compression ends) With that being said I mostly get all the ends I need for free and haven't tried the monoprice ends.

I did a full cleaning on the bays with a complete downstock to find out what we need ordered so it was fresh in my mind.

Yep...mostly new outdoor runs to add extra lines for the second tuner on the DVR's. Also, the installer who did the initial run of the cables on outside of my house did a piss poor job, so it's time to tidy that up. :)
