Someone with an ATV must have had an artistic wife and they thought it was cool to mount it in the land.

This story is everywhere today. The stupid, it burns; is it aliens? STFU, it's never aliens. I got bingo when someone used the tired this is not the year to be messin' with mysterious monoliths trope.

Is it their fault for making pathetic tired jokes or your fault for bothering to read them?

There is no fault; I surmised what I would read beforehand. Having it confirmed, and observing it with sarcasm is simply a response.

I'm still thinking that some tourist agency put it out there to drum up business. If some local helicopter tour agency starts offering "Monolith Tours", you'll know who did it :)

Utah is an awesome place to vacation if you like nature. Zion National Park and Arches National Park are epic!

There are lots of good ski areas as well if you're into that sort of thing.

Yeah, it's one of the coolest areas on planet earth.

Who takes a vacation in Utah?

I was headed through southern Utah a few years ago & stopped at Moab & rented an off-road Jeep for a day. It was AWESOME! They have Hummer tours, Jeep trails, ATV & dirtbike routes, whitewater rafting, ziplining, hiking, mountain biking, audio tours, extreme buggy experiences, etc. The place I rented from gave you a Jeep with big tires & a tricked-out suspension & even threw in a cooler with ice & a map so you could go have a day adventure! Super fun, I'd love to go back there & just spend a week doing everything! WAY more fun than Disney!!

Sadly I agree. The President would never be able to keep Alien Life from outer space secret. Never.
It is now confirmed there is no evidence of alien life.

Better to let people keep entertained and hype up the nonsensical conjectures and "Mystery" than explain the more plausible reason it got there. Some guys put it there, somehow, probably without any crane, and broke rock. Must have been 4 strong men and their Jeep.

The reason why? Because when you've got curious people, they start coming like Pokemon Go players, scouring the landscape. Then whoopsies, the terrain blows out a tire in the middle of nowhere, they weren't prepared with food, and then first responders have to waste resources saving them and then coming back to retrieve their vehicles.

Just a remind of how the media informs buts makes sure to NOT EDUCATE.
