Monitors W/ Speakers

Monitors who come with speakers usually end up sending an echo when you talk to people through programs like Ventrilo, is there a way to stop this? The obvious answer would be to turn the speakers off but my friend had a monitor like this and even when he turned them off he would still echo other people. Is there anyone who could help with this issue before I buy my new monitor? thanks.

The echo is a setting problem not an issue with monitors that have speakers. You will have the same problem with regular speakers. Often you only hear the echo if you are talking at the same time as someone else. Thats just the way Ventrilo works.

Yeah you hear the echo while someone else has their mic held down, but that doesnt happen with headsets, only speakers.

That the way nature works.

When you use headphones the signal stays between the headphone and your year.

With Speakers the Mic. hears the speakers output and send it too, then it comes back as echo.

It referred to as, Positive Audio feedback, or cumulative causation.

I already know this, but thing is when my friend even turned off his speakers on his monitor and used a headset, he would still echo.
