Monitors? Proview? Dell?

Hi folks...need some advice here... need to pick up a 19" flat screen

looking at the Dell...but saw this Proview 19" that has 16ms ... anyone know anything about Proview? looks like some Taiwanese company... guy at Circuit city was claiming it was such a great monitor, etc etc...

normally I wouldnt think about it but its only 330$ right now and thats a nice price...

primarily using the monitor for non gaming


any insights there much appreciated...

am also looking at the Dell 1905 fp for 430.00 which i gather is a great monitor

should I save myself 100$ or is the dell worth it?

are you using that monitor? is it too bright?

looks like a great monitor espec at that price... I have to stare inot this thing 50 hrs a week so I am looking for something that will be easy on the eyes... I assume the 8ms response time will help that...

won't know until today or sometime next week or whenever fedex decides to drop it.

Very bright according to this review but you can lower it since contrast is stable and color reproduction is not compromised as much.

Great LCD for 2D/text etc, but I would not recommend for gaming. The response time is simply not fast enough IMO.

FWIW... just spent 2 hrs looking at every flat screen I could find in my area stores...

there's no question what the best looking one is... its the SONY with x brite... just not even close... unfortunately its also 600$!

seems like the monitors that have those protective screens have better color reproduction

especially with darker colors...

I think the Proview is the worst as far as dark color reproduction, even though it is 16 ms

view sonic 191b was pretty decent looking, but still didnt even hold a candle to the Sony x brite

damn, now I am pondering a 600$ monitor instead of 350!
