If size and space isn't an issue, then stick with CRT. That was the biggest
I still love the picture on my Viewsonic PF790, but I've heard Iiyama CRT's are top of the line.
I agree that the fixed pixel thing is bothersome (more so on the 2001FP than the 2405FPW).
For gaming, I have no complaints about the 2405, but grant the CRTs still seem better to me.

Also, with my CRT I had fewer issues with resolutions, since I found 1024x768 to be just fine, whereas on the LCD, it was plain crappy.
Lower res = more AA or older gen video card.

I am a pretty hardcore gamer and I currently have the View Sonic A90f+ CRT. I have had it for 2 years with no problems at all, it has been a fantastic monitor. I keep telling myself that I am going to keep using it unitl it dies and by then any worries I have about LCDs will be gone and I get get one of them. I keep telling myself that, but I also keep coming back to wanting a Hyundai L90D+, and later getting another for a dual setup.

dnuggett, I told myself when I bought the PF790 that I was going to use it until it died.
I nervously watched LCDs drop in price and rise in quality, and 4+ years after getting it, (and it showing ZERO performance issues) I went dual with the 2001FP for nearly a year.

I gamed on both, though ATI's CCC made it a little annoying switching between the two monitors (but hey, you gotta compare, right?)
I finally said goodbye to the PF790 when I got the 2405. If I weren't in Brooklyn, though, I'd probably have kept the PF790 running in dual, damn the spacial requirements!
