Hey everyone. We're looking for some sort of monitoring software for our computers at the office. Here's what we need and why we need it:
An app that can log browser history and duration of each visit to a website
Posibility to "watch" the user screen in real time (kinda like NetOp School)
Posibility to log IM conversations
Something that runs on each PC in silent mode, password protected (so that the user doesn't know he's being watched)
We don't actually need real-time monitoring, just the ability to create weekly reports of what the users are doing with their computers.
We're looking for something like this because we have some new people coming in and we want to make sure they're not slacking off or viewing stuff they're not supposed to.
Before you suggest installing some sort of server-client package, proxy server or something like that, let me tell you that we do have a server (SBS 2003), but the server does not handle internet traffic, it's just a file server, database and print server. Internet traffic is handled by a dedicated router.
What do you think would be the best solution?
