Monitoring Optimus GPU States?

Anyone know of a program that actually monitors the current graphic state for a laptop equipped with Optimus?

I tried MSI Afterburner but it actually seems to force my 525M into the "on" state all the time rather than detecting whether it is the H3000 or the 525M that is currently active.

This is built into the Nvidia control panel on my XPS 17. I think its under the menu where you can set sli/physics visual indicators. Anyway, it puts a little GPU die shot icon in the system tray and hovering over it shows you if the Nvidia GPU is active and what process is using it.
