monitoring network traffic

what can i use to do this? i use net stat live from analog x to see what my transfer rater are but what can i use to see what is actively using the internet. Like which program is using it?

i ask because if i turn off all my programs. it still says im dling stuff between 7 and 30k/s

and i want to know what?s up
