Monitoring FPS

Let's say I'm running Doom 3, and I want to monitor my fps while playing, is there anything I can use to do this? In Diablo 2 there's a command (I think it's /fps) that shows fps and ping, but I'd like to monitor it in faster games like D3 and Farcry. Thanks!

Oh and btw, is there any way I can monitor GPU temps in-game or during 3DMark05 besides checking them right after I close the program?

i dont know how in that game. cs is cl_showfps 1 or net_graph. google it
