Need some input on this. I've been in the market for a new monitor for a bit. I want a 19", and I've been looking around online, but most are a bit expensive for me. I was just at Sam's, and say a flat screen CRT 19", and wanted to see if anyone knew if it was any good. Here's the specs from the box:

Manufacturer is Orion
Model # OS-9F
19" display, 18" visible
.20 mm horizontal dot pitch, .25 trio dot pitch
max resolution 1600x1200 @ 75 hz non-interlaced
3 years warranty, parts and labor
Price: $189

Is this monitor any good? I really don't want to have to spend over $300 and shipping if this monitor is decent enough. Thanks for any input.

you have to answer that
did it look ok to your eye?
do those specs match up with your video card ok?
do those specs match up with your PC usage? (gaming, internet, dvd playback , etc)

my parents got their last monitor from costco (like sam's) and its great for them

I have a GeForce 4 4600, so I would be able to run it at max resolution just fine, and I would be using it for both gaming, internet, and maybe a little DVD watching when I'm too lazy to use my stand alone DVD player. Unfortunately, it was not hooked up to any input, so I couldn't see how it looked.

I am mainly wondering if the specs sound good, and the manufacturer is at least decent. I haven't bought a monitor in over 3 years, so I'm a bit behind iin what would constitute a good 19" monitor, but I think those specs are good. If so, I think I will go back to Sam's tomorrow and see if I can convice someone to hook it up so I can see the quality.

oooh, definetely don't buy until you see it in action, you don't want to be unhappy with a monitor purchase, that is something most people upgrade/change out the least

good luck! :)

maybe somebody will post up that has one/knows somebody that has one, the ones they sell at costco are a different brand than that, sylvania or sumptin

And you're wanting to skimp on the monitor? ;) Seriously, take the time to find a great monitor, even if it costs a bit more.
I don't really want to skimp on the monitor, I just don't think that I need to spend a fortune on the monitor. I also got the GF4 when I was working, and now I'm back to school so money is a bit tight. And I'm currently gaming on a four year old 17 inch, so I don't think that I could get a worse gaming experience.
