Monitor wont boot into XP

ok, my pc works with my LG monitor, but my Samsung monitor wont boot into windows. if i have my samsung hooked up, it will post and go into bios. windows will try to boot, but the monitor will go into sleep mode after a few secs. the monitor will stay on all day if its in bios. my samsung was working just fine last night, but for some reason it wont work today. there seems to be no problem with the monitor or my pc at all. i mean, my monitor will even detect when i disconnect it from my pc. for some odd reason, windows wont boot up on the samsung. i had the LG hooked up at the same time and they both started to boot at the same time. everything was the same until windows booted. then the samsung went into sleep mode. any reasons as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

If I've got this right:
You have two monitors. Both worked before today. Now only the LG works, but you cannot get the Samsung to work, yet you have tried both. Is that right?

The only thing I could think of off the top of my head is that Windows somehow switched to a refresh rate that your Samsung does not support. Could be a driver update or some auto-configuring application you recently installed that didn't notify you of the change (Nvidia stuff does this to me a lot).
I'd suggest going into safe mode if you didn't try that first thing. If your Samsung doesn't work in safe mode I woudl estimate it's a problem with the monitor. I have had (CRTs at least) partially "break" over time so they didn't support a res they used to, or refresh rate, or similar. This often leads to really frustrating trouble shooting sessions, but that would be my ultimate diagnosis if nothing else I've mentioned works (and no one else has a better idea). There are way more experienced people on here than me, so hopefully someone else could help more.

Good luck!~

i dont know, this is crazy. i went into my nvidia settings and i was gonna set up a dual display. when i did that, my samsung popped back on and my LG went into sleep mode. for some reason, i cant run duals at one time. b4 i couldnt even run the samsung alone. atleast the samsung is working now. i can now DC the LG.

Are you running both of these monitors off the same videocard or are they separate cards, or is one of them a card and one of them integrated to the motherboard?

If you're running both monitors off a single card:
Either the card was phsyically damaged and only one port is working at a time now (have had this happen where both functioned, but never at the same time)
Or its a driver issue of some sort.

I know that's not much to go on, but thought I'd suggest whatever I could think of. let us know how it goes!
