Monitor - what the hell?

First off I have a Philips CM0200, its about 7 years old (amazing as it is)

I turned it off, sprayed with glass cleaner (no anti glare so it's safe)

After clean, I turned the monitor on, my thumb was close to the screen, I got shocked and the monitor was black, turned it off after seeing nothing. After a few minutes of having it turned off, I turned it back on again and its actually still alive!

Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

It was probably just static electricity. Nothing to really worry about. It's actually really easy to shock yourself with a monitor like that...

The discharge wasn't what made me post this, but the fact that it acted dead when I turned it back on, one of these days a new monitor is required, this ones max is 1024x768 and unreadable
800x600x60hz is the best it can easily handle.
