Can someone please list the pros and cons of using your computer for watching dvds versus buying a TV for the purpose? Right now I have an excellent 19" monitor, a decent computer, a (philips home audio) sacd/dvd player, and an awesome stereo system. The problem is that I need to be able to watch dvds b/c my gf is damn movie buff and always wants to sleep at her place where can watch movies.
Is there any way to connect my monitor to my dvd player? How about progressive dvd output and hdtv -- wouldn't my monitor be way better at high resolution and noninterlaced display than any kind of reasonably priced tv?
