monitor troubles

i just got my new samsung syncmaster 753DF from newegg today, and boy is it nice. very good upgrade from my crappy 15" before. i set AA to 6x and AF to 16x, but running games at 1152x864 is choppy. vicy city has jaggies out the ying yang. what settings should i mess with to get optimal quality from my games?

well, its not a monitor issue. this sort of stuff ALL has to do with the video card. I'm expecting that you used to have a much lesser resolution with those settings. well, if you increase resolution, your video card has to process more data to be antialiased and filtered, etc., so it slows down.

i used to run my games at 1024x768 with my crappy 15" generic CRT and they looked great with no AA or AF. what settings would you suggest? my video card is a sapphire radeon 9600 np 128mb, non overclocked. i want to run games at 1152x864

if i run at 1152x864 with 2x AA and 4x AF will i get a decent picture without jaggies?
