Monitor - text not as sharp

Is it normal for a shadow mask crt? Text looks all grainy and fainted. Comparing it to my flatscreen crt, there's a huge difference. Something wrong with this monitor?

Are all of the following equal:

Resolution, color depths, refresh rates, video card, connector quality, cable length

If not, then you're not doing an apples-to-apples. 😉

Are you driving it too hard? May need a degaussing or a bit of tweaking on the focus.

It depands. You have to tell the models of your display.
