ok i have a nanao flexscan f750 21" monitor . Back in the day this thing was super expensive, but i guess someone gave it to my dad for free.

its 9 years old and .31 dot pitch and has been in the family for 8 years. Now its max res using the built in winxp INF file is 1280x1024x72hz, and if i used plug and play monitor i can get 1600x1200x60hz. Anyways, i just got bnc cables for it, and it looks razor sharp at 1024x768. Anyways i love this monitor.

The problem is... i lose the settings at all resolutions above 1024x768x85hz. like i have to adjust the width and height and position of the screen because its not right. but then it loses the settings at say 1280x1024 every time i change the res, or shut off the monitor. Now you'd think that was the backup battery on the settings, but it works fine saving settings at 800x600 or 1024x768. anyways, its sharp at 1280 and i'd like to use that, wanted to know if anyone had any ideas what to do.

some monitors have a "clear memory" function or something hidden in the menus...sounds like it's run out of video modes it can save.

you don't see such a thing do you?

I have an Eizo F550iw and according to the book that came with it, it has a total number of presets that can be changed, I think the number is 32. Maybe yours has been changed so many times, all the available memory slots are full. I have a manual, that I can't locate at the moment, that gives the combination of buttons you press to reset the whole thing to factory defaults and start over. Looking at the front I think you press the trapezoid and brightness controls together and hold them for a while. No guts! No glory! It's no wonder that you like the monitor. The experts say that Eizo is to monitors as Ferrari is to cars.

thanks man i'm running at 1152x864 85hz now!! it was h stat and brightness. works great. i remember one of my teachers in high school had an f550 i think its the 17" version of this. what a waste though, he used it on a mac at like 640x480 . and yes eizo is the ferrari of monitors. you cannot beat their stuff. this thing is 9 years old, and its still got a pretty picture. its showing its age in the resolutions and refresh rates, but its still sharp and the colors are still lookin good.
