Simple question - I am looking to purchase a new monitor soon (for gaming and movies mostly), something in the 27-30" size I am thinking. I will likely purchase online, and have read reviews but I just wanted to hear what you guys had to say. Any favorites? I'd like to hear all thoughts and comments, though I might wait for one to go on sale and spend around $300-$450 or so.
 
Check the LCD sticky thread in the Video and Graphics cards forum. I am not sure you're going to get a get 27" or 30" monitor for anywhere close to that price, even on sale.

24" ips panels are $500 dollars. If you have $500 dollars, "i'm recently becoming aware that it's possible to not have $500 dollars",

Dell wfp 2407, 2410, are the monitors to get.

DO NOT GET 2408. LAGG

BEST color in H-ips and S-ips panels.

there are no 30" computer panels for less than $1200.. if you do see any they're probably rebadged Crappy LCD tvs.

The 27" TN panels are SHIT with a SHIT price tag that puts you further away from good color.
