Monitor refresh rate

I have a Samsung 955df monitor. It is supposed to be able to do a resolution of 1280x1024 @ 80Hz. Windows XP will only allow for 75Hz or 85Hz (which it cant do). Is there a way to manually set the refresh rate to 80 Hz in windows?

You will have to go to an other application to do this, like powerstrip.
It should let you choose the resolution as well as the refresh rate.

I found this table at Samsung:

Resolution
1600x1200 @ 68Hz
1280x1024 @ 79Hz
1152x864 @ 93Hz
1024x768 @ 104Hz
800x600 @ 131Hz
640x480 @ 160Hz

Recommended -
1280x1024 @ 75Hz
1024x768 @ 85Hz

it's 79 not 80 that is a difference, windows will not let you set it to 80, to get that 79 you should take max vertical freq. and multiply it by some fraction that I forgot and resolution - that will give you the exact refresh rate for all resoultions.

yeah, it recommends 1280x1024 at 75Hz, but i would really like to get 80 Hz out of it. It can do 1280x960 at 85Hz, so i would assume 1280x1024 at 80 Hz would work fine.
it looks like powerstrip will fix the problem. thanks
