Hey, I've been out of the loop for a little while now and i'm now in the need of a new monitor. I'm not too sure which are the best ones to go with right now and i'm hoping some people out here can help me out. I'm looking for a 19" most likely, possibly 21" if it isn't totally over my budget. Budget is a concern so i'm not looking to spend a ton of cash. So any recommendations of a decent 19" monitor would be much appreciated.....Thanks.

I`ll get this thread moving Samsung 900NF is a good 19" AG type monitor(has those two visible wires on screen) Sony G420, the LG 915FT Flatron is a another good 19" flatscreen that does not have those wires like in the other monitors if AG wires bother you.

I like my viewsonics, G773 and PF790--flat screen 19"--but check out some reviews first then check for owner comments.

I really like my Viewsonic PF790 right now. For a while I thought the text was a tad blurry but then I changed vid cards from GF2GTS to R8500 and the text looks crystal clear now. I'm quite happy with it.

Im fairly impressed by the Samsung moniters, I might get one of those the next time Im out shopping for a moniter but I still love my Hitachi moniters :) They're generally much cheaper than the Sony's but the quality is atleast as good and as flat.

canuck007, the Smasung is a great monitor, also look at the NEC FE950+ and if you're able to find one, the Sony G400 is excellent as well. Should be cheaper than the G420, as it's the older model, but excellent neverthless, I have one. Hope this helps.

I got the Iiyama Vision Master Pro 451 and love it.
It has 2 stereo speakers and USB ports.
Specs are:

19" Diamondtron NF(TM) True Flat CRT
Aperture Grill Pitch :0.25mm(center),0.27mm
Max Resolution 1920x1440

I got mine in UK as it was voted No1 by PC magazine.

KDS is also a good company for monitors. Now that they're out of business, you can pick up a nice monitor for a decent price. I got my VS19-sn for about $240 shipped...and I'm loving it. It's supposed to be a flat screen, but it's not a true flat screen,...just PRETTY flat :p. Good luck on your monitor search, and hope this helps.
