I took out the RAM and hooked my computer up to the normal speakers. No sound whatsoever - I guess the mobo is dead. Thanks.

On another note, anyone have any good ideas for storing RAM and the like?
Also, does anyone know any good replacement mobos for AMD 3200+ Venice and a case that fits it well? My old case definitely resulted in a lot of dust also.

Here's the situation:

When the computer turns on, the monitor doesn't do anything. The monitor works fine, and I've swapped video cards to test that possibility.

My guess is that the motherboard is dead. Apparently, the computer started getting BIOS errors at start up (blue screen as the first thing he sees) several months ago. However, it happened 1/2 times, so my brother lived through it by just restarting (since he leaves the computer on normally anyways). I did not get to read it (because I can't now), but I assume that it also relates to the motherboard performance.

Lastly, the computer was extremely dusty when I took it out to clean and test it.

What do you all think?

Thanks,

extra info:
I forgot the name of the mobo, but I can find it if you need it. It's a socket 939 MSI model if you need a simple reference. It has a tiny fan on it that stopped working, but it stopped working over a year ago I think (so I do not believe it would be relevant).
Everything else is functioning fine. The only weird thing is this sound that I cannot locate. It seems like it might be the hard drive skipping, but even that wouldn't stop something from appearing on the monitor.

Connect an internel beep to the mobo and run the above test all mobo have error beep codes built in and that will give you a good idea what is going on. You might need to check with the manufacture for the error codes means.
