I assume you've never worked in a cubicle style office where your back is to your entrance and can't see if someone is standing behind you. A few people in my office have the car style rearview mirror on their monitors.

It does look cheap, but for $.99 or $.49, what do you expect.

Yes, because they all surf kiddie porn or other inappropriate subject matters for a work environment. There's nothing on your screen that should alarm someone behind you, at least from a distance that would require a rearview mirror alert, other than visual matter of that nature.

What's next? An automatic spooge-wiper?

Ah yeah. Like for instance if you are writing up a memo about firing a bunch of people. I'm sure you want the person standing behind you reading that ahead of time. Or if you are in HR, you could be typing about any number of private issues or medical situations or other private things about particular employees that you surely want spread throughout the office right?

I personally dont see a need for this, but I can envision why it might be needed by some people.

And as for pron, its dang easy for the system admin to set up a system to track everything you do on the computer at work. Anyone who surfs ANY type of pron at work is just asking to get fired.

Clueless! The point is not to hide what you're doing, but to know someone is waiting to talk to you.

Lots of people wher I work put a reflective CD up near the monitor. Since just about everyone uses headphones to cut out all the noise, a CD or mirror is the only way to know someone's there before they tap you on the shoulder and give you a heart attack.
