Monitor question..

Platypus

Lifer
On my CRT Trinitron, there is a button that is like the 'best fit' monitor button. Once pressed it should make the best fit, however when I press it, the top, bottom, and sides, move in, leaving black space on each side of the screen. If this is the best fit, why does this happen. I worry because I have to use the monitor adjusting buttons to adjust the screen, and it appears to warp the picture in the corners. I have played around with all the controls, and it just makes the picture hard to see. Is that button really the best thing for it?

Apparently if when you mess with the controls it gets worse. The Best Fit is just for those who don't feel like messing with things and is "Good Enough". If you're really picky (like me), then just play with the other things until you're happy.

I think it has to do with the edges of the monitor having crappier quality. Not sure about yours but I noticed on a lot of monitors it's almost impossible to get a perfect straight edge etc on the sides...

well if it automaticaly went to the very edges why have manual controls. you might as well take the 20 seconds and do it yourslef
