Ok. I have a sony lcd and the top refresh rate it can go to is 60 hertz. Now, if I go into screen resolutions and refresh rates under my video card settings I can override this and change the screen refresh rate past 60 hertz. What will happen if I change it to umm lets say 75 hertz. Can changing the refresh rates like this harm the monitor in any way? My top screen resolution is 1280x1024. Will changing the screen resolution past 1280x1024 harm the monitor?
Thank you and good night!!!!!!!:D

Go ahead and do it, it'll just go all fuzzy and you won't be able to see anything. As long as you don't hit enter during this time it should revert back to normal, thats what the do you want to keep these settings 5...4...3...etc is for.

Yeah, when I was a freshman in college someone screwed up their display so bad I had to drag my monitor into their room and plug it in so they could undue it. :p

Sweet, I changed the refresh rate to 75 hertz and it works perfectly. It doesn't seem to change anything yet. I tried changing the resolution but that didn't work as well... Will this mess up the monitor though?
