I got this cheapo Pixel 17" from Staples roughly 2 months ago. Have not really used it since. But now, I found out the right bottom corner seemed to be darker then the rest of the area. Is this something I can tune in the hardware? Or, is it a sign of failure in the near future? Now I really hope I had a Sony.

I don't think this "spot" can be removed. Return/RMA this monitor, ASAP. If this is a Pixie brand monitor, apply the store credit to a different brand of monitor.
 
On some monitors there is an adjustment that can correct color problems in the corners, so I would look through your manual and see if it has such an adjustment.
