Monitor Problem

I am having a problem with my monitor waking up to a garbled screen of color.
It only happens with Vista, not XP so I know it's not the monitor or video card.
I have all the latest Vista drivers for all the hardware and all Vista updates.
I'm running Ultimate. I've tried a different monitor also and the same thing
happens. Where should I start in my quest to fix this.
The monitor is a 22 inch ACER about 3 months old and I'm running
an EVGA 7900GT card.

i bet its the drivers under vista. even though nvidia's drivers for vista are out there, and you have the "latest", apparently they still are not perfect. the xp ones are fine as you mentioned, but for vista, i would be try nvidia beta drivers for vista that are newer than what you use now, or even try old ones. another option is wait it out, and turn off the standby mode or what ever you have that causes the screen to turn off and when it turns on you see insane colors.

I have a feeling it's drivers too. I'll see what Nvidia has to say on their site.
Thanks for the response.
