Hi all, I have an Acer monitor. The model # is AL2423Wdr. I recently started having a problem where the monitor would start to display "No Signal" in a gray box in the middle of the screen, much like the moments after you put the system on stand by mode. The weird part though is that the monitor still displays everything that occurs. It shows mouse movements, web browsers, everything...just with this gray box in the middle... after not too long, the monitor would appear to reset and show everything as it should...at least for a little while. Once again, the 'No signal" message appears and it continues to loop like this indefinitely.
I had a temporary fix that would let me use the monitor sans-annoyance and that was to turn off the monitor and turn it back on. The monitor would display "acer" for a while until the monitor would reset again and would work fine until I turned off or reset the computer, or let the system go into sleep mode.
As of today though, my trick no longer works. the monitor continues to display no signal and reset. I've tried installing drivers rather than using P&P drivers for the monitor to no avail. I've tried reseting the computer and using an alternate DVI port on my video card. Once again, no fix. I have no tried any of the other inputs on the monitor.
My computer consists of the following:
3800+ X2 (stock vcore and HT)
2 gb Corsair RAM (mid range, not cheap, not super expensive) in a 1gbx2 arrangement.--stock timings
7900GT with an upgraded cooler, automatic overclocking enabled on the nVidia control panel
DFI LanPartyUT NF590 SLI-M2R/G motherboard
550W Antec Neo HE
I'm going to attempt installing an updated version of my video card drivers next but I actually believe the monitor is the problem. I also have the monitor set to NOT shut off after any duration excluding when the computer is off itself.
I attempted to take a screenshot of it...before realizing that since the monitor is displaying "No Signal" itself and as such, the computer wouldn't be aware of it...
Thanks for any help you guys can lend me.
