monitor problem-- what do you think?

I have a 19" ctx monitor. The monitor runs fine but it cuts off and then back on for an instant every now and then. I think it is more frequent now.

gplracer,
I have an ADI Microscan 6P that did something similar. Every once in a while it would black out for an instand and make a noise similar to degaussing.(Boing!) Over time it got worse and required repair. It was something called a fly-back transformer.
Dunno if this is what you have, but it's a place to start looking.

it would be funny if it was yoru blankscreen saver/blank power management feature enabled at a low time interval...

but it probably isn't...and since i have never heard of that, can't help...but it doesn't sound like it can be remedied w/out sending it in to be fixed...who knows.

I hope it is something minor like that. CTX is almost impossible to get in touch with. They did nto return my email and and the wait is too long on the phone.

CTX is well known among technicians for having bad solder joints, especially around connectors on the circuit boards. Resolder every one of them, and the problem almost always goes away.

CTX is very easy to contact for good technical repair information, but I don't know about their warranty dept.
