Any ideas what the problem might be? The little green light comes on, no picture, then the green light goes off...

Its a few years old, so if its crapped out, no big deal. Just wondering if theres an easy fix or not.

First two things I'd think of is that the power supply either just died on you or your switch is broken and is making complete contact. If you replace those two and it still does that then...Yo no se...Since you don't even get a post I'd say its either the first two or your mobo.

Have you tested this monitor on another system, make sure it works. If it does then test your system with a good monitor that's way the tech will do it before he does any trouble shooting, before taking out the PS, get power cable extension and use a good PS outside the case with cable and test the system, this way you don't have to spend time replacing parts yet.

If it is a power-saving monitor, it may be your video card. If there is no signal, the monitor will shut itself down. I just had that happen to me... I replaced the video card and everything worked fine.

Good points...I somehow read your message to mean you didn't even post. If that's not the case then there's no reason to start replacing parts.

I finally figured out a problem I've been having with my new Dell System (I know, I know, I sold out, leave it alone...). Whenever I pushed the monitor over 60Hz my screen turned into a jello jiggler. Other (older)monitor worked fine on the same system and Dell Monitor still looked screwey on the old system so I tried out a new monitor. No Luck I tried a new video card, still no luck. When I set it up in another room as an EMI check it still did it. Last night out of frustration I set it up in my living room and voila, its fine. Apparently the circuit that I had tried the system on was screwed and since both my bedroom and the first room I moved it two were on the same circuit I was getting a crappy power supply even through my surge suppressor. Moral of the story. It's not always hardware...it could be a ghost.
