well, there is 1 thing, but i dont really see how this could have caused the monitor to die...
i was trying to install a software based key logger demo on my computer. i didnt really have a reason, but i wanted to see if they actually worked.
anyways, i installed it, powered down, and the monitor just turned off. the LED went off, and it would not come back on. i unplugged it, gave it time, and still no cookies.
when the computer restarted, it gave me the "you shutdown the computer incorrectly" screen, but i know i did not do that!
i am running windows xp, and it did the logging you off, saving your stuff, shuting down and then it turned off. i dont understand why it gave me the prompt...
the only conclusion i could come to is that there was some kind of weird power surge, maybe a sag or something unusual with more amperage and less voltage (my surge protector is still working fine btw...) that caused all of my devices to get a kick square in the nuts.
anyone have a clue what happened?
btw, i put another monitor (the one im using now) on the circuit and everything is working fine, but that other monitor...its a no go
