I'd go for 1 22". Personal preference though, I know many people who prefer dual monitors. What will you be doing with it? If it's video editing, then definately get two. If it's just general - graphics, surfing, gaming, etc. - get one big one.

2 17", no doubt.

2 17" will give you about 50% more resolution than that monitor. It'll also give you two distinct workspaces. You can also get 2 17"s for ~$250. Unless desk space is an issue there's no way I'd buy that monitor (unless I was buying two of them, and they were not widescreen)

just throwing out some options. you can get two 19" lcds for that price.

i'm hoping more 20" models get to the ~$200 mark soon. :)

19" is a waste of money unless you have bad eyes (need bigger pixels) or you find one that's cheaper than a 17" (like the Hanns-G in Hot Deals right now). 19" is the same resolution as 17".

and the 22" models have the same resolution as 20" models.

i'd prefer to have the extra 2" and larger pixel size so i can shrink down txt and icon sizes. :)

and the recent flood of cheap 19" lcds certainly help with that decision. ;)

Get the 22", although the resolution is a bit low to give you enough space to rule out having two monitors. The 22" would be great for viewing movies or playing games.

The dual 17" would be good for multiple applications open up at the same time - such as, MS Word on one screen, MS excel on the other.

I'd rather have the 1 22 but cost wise....... 2 17's would be my choice.

my 15 inch laptop screen is 1920x1200 and I cant stand any less anymore.

If multiple desktops is your only reason, try linux. A click of the mouse and your on a seperate desktop with the same monitor.

If gaming is your thing, then probably the bigger screen, just make sure your graphics card can handle it.
