I have a a75f viewsonic monitor. Its about 4 to 5 years old. They have a driver I can download for it and I have used it for a long time. But it has never been signed. They never release a signed driver for it. The other day I was upgrading my video driver and forgot to install it. Then windows installed a plug and play driver. It worked just fine. So now I am wondering Should I use the xp plug and play driver or the current driver for my monitor (the current driver has a date of 6/25/04).

I would recomend you use the one that looks best, if any difference, and lets you use the resolutions/screen sizes you like. If no difference then the one that is easist to install [P&P].

mostly the plug and play wors fine but i suggest to get the driver made for it ( even if its unsigned). the driver knows what your monitor can do/perform and ensures your pc will play nicely with the monitor.

Usually the monitor drivers come with a color profile for the monitor. If the small discrepancies between what the monitor should show, and what the monitor shows are of no concern to you, then by all means go with the plug and play driver. Unless your beloved resolution/refresh rate is unavailable in default driver, certainly.
The generic drivers are just fine, as long as all you want works.

Zarick I just recently upgraded a systems OS to WinXP Pro and it has a Viewsonic A75f monitor....I looked for either a signed or unsigned driver for it. I downloaded the one from Viewsonic but both say that the monitor is not found. I was wondering if you could tell me about the driver which you are utilizing. Maybe it would resolve my issue before I go with the PnP driver.
